Ingredients:
- 2 salmon fillets, 6 oz (170g) each
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp cracked black pepper
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp soy sauce
Instructions:
- Pat the salmon fillets completely dry with paper towels and season both sides evenly with salt and black pepper.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, lemon juice, lemon zest, minced garlic, and soy sauce until the mixture is smooth and glossy.
- Heat olive oil in a 12-inch oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
- Place salmon skin-side up and sear for 3-4 minutes without moving the fillets until a golden-brown crust forms.
- Flip the fillets carefully and pour the lemon salmon glaze directly over the fish.
- Baste the fish continuously with a spoon as the sauce bubbles and thickens, or transfer the skillet to a 400°F (200°C) oven for 5-7 minutes until the glaze is tacky and the salmon flakes easily.
