Ingredients:
- 4 salmon fillets, 6 oz each
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/3 cup honey
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
Instructions:
- Pat the salmon fillets completely dry with paper towels. Note: Moisture is the enemy of a good sear
- Season both sides evenly with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a 12 inch skillet over medium high heat until shimmering.
- Place fillets skin side up and sear for 3-5 minutes until a golden brown crust forms.
- Flip the fillets and sear for another 2 minutes.
- Lower the heat to medium. Push the salmon to the side of the pan.
- Add the minced garlic, stirring for 30 seconds until it smells fragrant but isn't brown.
- Pour in the honey, soy sauce, and lemon juice. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until the mixture bubbles and thickens into a syrupy consistency.
- Spoon the thickening Honey Garlic Salmon Glaze over the fillets repeatedly for the final 2 minutes of cooking until the fish is fully coated and glossy.
