Ingredients:

  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions, chopped (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Trim ends of the green beans.
  2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  3. Boil the green beans for 2-3 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.
  4. Drain and immediately plunge into an ice bath to stop the cooking.
  5. In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, ginger, and garlic.
  6. Heat vegetable oil and sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat.
  7. Add drained green beans and sauté for 2 minutes.
  8. Pour the sauce over the green beans and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring well.
  9. Cook until the sauce thickens slightly.
  10. Transfer the green beans to a serving platter and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if using.
