Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lb salmon fillets
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp kosher salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line your baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent the sugar from sticking.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets completely dry with paper towels. Brush the fillets lightly with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and lemon juice until the sugar has mostly dissolved into a smooth, thick paste.
  4. Spoon the glaze generously over the top of each fillet. Use the back of the spoon or a pastry brush to spread the mixture to the edges, creating an even layer.
  5. Place the salmon in the oven for 10–12 minutes until the glaze bubbles and turns a deep mahogany-brown and the fish flakes easily with a fork or reaches an internal temperature of 135°F (57°C).
