Ingredients:

  • 2 center-cut salmon fillets, approx 6 oz (170g) each
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 stalks green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds, toasted
  • 1 lemon, cut into wedges

Instructions:

  1. Pat the salmon fillets completely dry with paper towels and place them on a lined baking sheet, skin-side down.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil until the sauce is smooth.
  3. Pour approximately two-thirds of the honey soy marinade over the fillets, ensuring they are generously coated, and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes.
  4. Brush the remaining glaze over the fillets, switch the oven to 'Broil' (high), and cook for 2-3 minutes until the glaze bubbles and develops charred, dark brown spots.
  5. Remove from the oven and let the salmon rest for 3 minutes. Garnish with sesame seeds, sliced green onions, and a squeeze of fresh lemon.
