Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples, peeled and cored
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions:

  1. Peel, core, and slice apples into uniform strips, roughly 1/4 inch thick and 3 inches long. Toss the slices immediately in lemon juice to prevent oxidation.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add the apple fries and toss gently until every strip is fully coated in the aromatic paste.
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the apple fries in a single layer, ensuring they do not touch to avoid steaming.
  4. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 12–15 minutes, flip each fry, and bake for another 10 minutes until mahogany-colored and fragrant.
