Ingredients:
- 2 lbs Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples, peeled and cored
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions:
- Peel, core, and slice apples into uniform strips, roughly 1/4 inch thick and 3 inches long. Toss the slices immediately in lemon juice to prevent oxidation.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add the apple fries and toss gently until every strip is fully coated in the aromatic paste.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the apple fries in a single layer, ensuring they do not touch to avoid steaming.
- Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 12–15 minutes, flip each fry, and bake for another 10 minutes until mahogany-colored and fragrant.
