Ingredients:

  • 2 cups fresh or frozen edamame beans, in pods
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari for gluten-free
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
  • Sea salt, to taste

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring water to a boil. Add edamame and a pinch of sea salt.
  2. Boil for about 5 minutes until tender but still firm; drain and set aside.
  3. In the same saucepan, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  4. Return the drained edamame to the pan. Pour in soy sauce and red pepper flakes (if using). Toss to coat evenly.
  5. Transfer to a serving bowl, and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
