Ingredients:

  • cup Fresh or Frozen Mango Chunks
  • /4 cup Fresh Lime Juice
  • Tbsp Cointreau or Triple Sec (Orange Liqueur)
  • oz (1/2 cup) Blanco/Silver Tequila (100% agave)
  • /2 to 1 Tbsp Simple Syrup (adjust to taste)
  • cups Ice Cubes (for shaking)
  • Tbsp Coarse Salt (Kosher or Sea Salt) for rim
  • Lime Wedges for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the glassware rim: Spread salt evenly onto a shallow plate. Take a lime wedge and run it around the outside edge of your chosen serving glass. Gently invert the glass and press the moistened edge lightly into the salt.
  2. If using fresh mango, prepare the puree: Combine mango chunks, 2 tablespoons of the lime juice, and a tiny splash of water (if needed) in a blender. Blend until completely smooth and silky. Taste and add simple syrup if the mango is tart.
  3. Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker: Add the tequila, remaining lime juice, orange liqueur, simple syrup, and the mango puree (about 2 oz per cocktail).
  4. Chill and Dilute: Fill the shaker 2/3 full with fresh ice cubes. Seal tightly and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until the shaker is frosty cold.
  5. Strain and Serve: Fill your prepared, salted glass with fresh ice. Strain the margarita mixture from the shaker into the glass over the new ice.
  6. Garnish: Finish the Mango Margarita with a fresh lime wheel or a small slice of fresh mango on the rim.
