Ingredients:
- cup Fresh or Frozen Mango Chunks
- /4 cup Fresh Lime Juice
- Tbsp Cointreau or Triple Sec (Orange Liqueur)
- oz (1/2 cup) Blanco/Silver Tequila (100% agave)
- /2 to 1 Tbsp Simple Syrup (adjust to taste)
- cups Ice Cubes (for shaking)
- Tbsp Coarse Salt (Kosher or Sea Salt) for rim
- Lime Wedges for garnish
Instructions:
- Prepare the glassware rim: Spread salt evenly onto a shallow plate. Take a lime wedge and run it around the outside edge of your chosen serving glass. Gently invert the glass and press the moistened edge lightly into the salt.
- If using fresh mango, prepare the puree: Combine mango chunks, 2 tablespoons of the lime juice, and a tiny splash of water (if needed) in a blender. Blend until completely smooth and silky. Taste and add simple syrup if the mango is tart.
- Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker: Add the tequila, remaining lime juice, orange liqueur, simple syrup, and the mango puree (about 2 oz per cocktail).
- Chill and Dilute: Fill the shaker 2/3 full with fresh ice cubes. Seal tightly and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until the shaker is frosty cold.
- Strain and Serve: Fill your prepared, salted glass with fresh ice. Strain the margarita mixture from the shaker into the glass over the new ice.
- Garnish: Finish the Mango Margarita with a fresh lime wheel or a small slice of fresh mango on the rim.
