Ingredients:

  • 60 ml (2 US fl oz) of your chosen spirit (Whiskey, Gin, Rum, Vodka)
  • 120-180 ml (4-6 US fl oz) of chilled carbonated mixer (Club Soda, Tonic Water, Ginger Ale, Cola)
  • Ice cubes (as needed)
  • Garnish: Lemon wedge, Lime wedge, Orange peel, or other suitable garnish

Instructions:

  1. Fill the highball glass with ice cubes. This pre-chills the glass and keeps your highball colder for longer.
  2. Measure and pour the spirit (whiskey, gin, etc.) over the ice.
  3. Gently top the glass with the chilled carbonated mixer. Adjust the amount of mixer to taste - more mixer means a lighter flavour and less alcohol.
  4. Gently stir the highball with a bar spoon to combine the spirit and mixer. Be careful not to over-stir, as this will cause the carbonation to dissipate.
  5. Add a garnish of your choice. A citrus wedge or peel is traditional.
