Ingredients:
- 2 oz (60ml) Amaretto (Disaronno is the classic)
- 1 oz (30ml) Fresh Lemon Juice
- 0.5 oz (15ml) Simple Syrup
- 1 Egg White (Optional)
- 2 dashes Angostura Bitters (Optional)
- Garnish: Lemon wedge/wheel, Maraschino Cherry
Instructions:
- Place your rocks glass in the freezer or fill it with ice while you prepare the drink.
- In a cocktail shaker (without ice!), add amaretto, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, egg white (if using), and Angostura bitters (if using). This is the dry shake.
- Seal the shaker tightly and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds. This emulsifies the egg white and creates a lovely foam.
- Add ice to the shaker, filling it about halfway.
- Seal the shaker and shake vigorously again for 15-20 seconds, until well-chilled.
- Remove the chilled glass from the freezer or empty the ice. Strain the cocktail into the glass filled with ice.
- Garnish with a lemon wedge/wheel and a Maraschino cherry. Serve immediately and enjoy!
