Ingredients:
- 2 oz (60 ml) Irish Gin or Vodka
- 1 oz (30 ml) Fresh Lime Juice
- 0.75 oz (22 ml) Elderflower Liqueur (such as St. Germain)
- 0.5 oz (15 ml) Cucumber Syrup
- Garnish: Cucumber ribbon or slice
- 1 cup (240 ml) Water (for cucumber syrup)
- 1 cup (200g) Granulated Sugar (for cucumber syrup)
- 1/2 Cucumber, peeled and roughly chopped (for cucumber syrup)
Instructions:
- Combine water and sugar in a saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. Add cucumber. Simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool. Strain syrup through a fine-mesh strainer, discarding solids. Store in the refrigerator.
- Place your martini or coupe glass in the freezer for a few minutes to chill.
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add gin/vodka, lime juice, elderflower liqueur, and cucumber syrup.
- Close the shaker tightly and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds, until well-chilled.
- Strain the cocktail into the chilled martini or coupe glass.
- Garnish with a cucumber ribbon or slice. Enjoy one of the best st patricks day cocktails.
