Ingredients:
- ½ cup (120 ml) mayonnaise (full-fat for best flavour)
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) ketchup
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) yellow mustard
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) sweet pickle relish (or finely chopped sweet pickles)
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) Worcestershire sauce
- ½ teaspoon (2.5 ml) smoked paprika
- ¼ teaspoon (1.25 ml) garlic powder
- Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional, for a bit of kick)
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, add the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle relish, white vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper (if using).
- Whisk all the ingredients together until thoroughly combined and smooth.
- Taste the sauce and season with freshly ground black pepper. Adjust the sweetness or tanginess by adding a tiny bit more ketchup or vinegar, as needed, to suit your personal preference.
- For the best flavour, cover the bowl and chill the sauce in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. This allows the flavours to meld together.
- Slather generously on your favourite burger.
