Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (454g) ground beef (80/20 blend is good for flavor)
  • 1 packet (approx. 1 oz/28g) Taco Seasoning Mix (store-bought or homemade)
  • ½ cup (120ml) water
  • 8 (6-inch/15cm) flour tortillas
  • 1 (15 ounce/425g) can refried beans
  • 1 cup (240ml) Taco Bell Mild Sauce (or your favorite mild taco sauce)
  • 2 cups (225g) shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup (60g) diced tomatoes
  • ¼ cup (30g) sliced green onions, for garnish (optional)
  • Vegetable oil, for brushing

Instructions:

  1. Heat skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Stir in taco seasoning and water. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the liquid is mostly absorbed.
  3. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Lightly brush both sides of the tortillas with vegetable oil. Arrange them on the baking sheet.
  5. Spread a thin layer of refried beans on four of the tortillas. Top with half of the seasoned ground beef.
  6. Place the remaining four tortillas on top of the beef-covered tortillas. Spread the taco sauce evenly over the top tortillas.
  7. Sprinkle the cheddar cheese evenly over the taco sauce-covered tortillas.
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the tortillas are lightly golden brown.
  9. Remove from oven. Top with diced tomatoes and green onions (if using). Cut each pizza into wedges and serve immediately.
