Ingredients:
- 500 grams (about 1 pound) of baby carrots or 4 large carrots, peeled and sliced into sticks
- 60 ml (1/4 cup) unsalted butter
- 90 grams (1/2 cup) packed brown sugar
- 60 ml (1/4 cup) water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
- Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Peel the carrots (if using large ones, slice them into stick-sized pieces).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Once the butter is melted, add the prepared carrots to the skillet.
- Stir in the brown sugar, water, salt, and cinnamon (if using).
- Cover the skillet and let the carrots simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Uncover the skillet, increase the heat to medium-high, and allow the liquid to reduce for about 3-5 minutes, stirring continuously until the carrots are nicely glazed.
- Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve warm.
