Ingredients:

  • 500 grams (about 1 pound) of baby carrots or 4 large carrots, peeled and sliced into sticks
  • 60 ml (1/4 cup) unsalted butter
  • 90 grams (1/2 cup) packed brown sugar
  • 60 ml (1/4 cup) water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Peel the carrots (if using large ones, slice them into stick-sized pieces).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
  3. Once the butter is melted, add the prepared carrots to the skillet.
  4. Stir in the brown sugar, water, salt, and cinnamon (if using).
  5. Cover the skillet and let the carrots simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Uncover the skillet, increase the heat to medium-high, and allow the liquid to reduce for about 3-5 minutes, stirring continuously until the carrots are nicely glazed.
  7. Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve warm.
