Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450 g) boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) vegetable oil (or olive oil)
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) honey
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) soy sauce (low sodium, if preferred)
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) water (if using cornstarch)
Instructions:
- Season chicken thighs or breasts with salt and pepper. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Add chicken to the pan; cook for about 5-7 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, and vinegar. (Optional) Mix cornstarch with water until smooth and add to the sauce for thickness.
- Pour the sauce into the same pan and bring to a simmer. Add the cooked chicken back into the pan; toss to coat evenly in the sauce.
- Cook for an additional 3-5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken. Turn chicken occasionally to ensure even coating.
- Serve hot, garnished with green onions or sesame seeds if desired.
