Ingredients:
- 12 ounces fresh or frozen cranberries (340g)
- 1 cup granulated sugar (200g)
- 1/2 cup water (120ml)
- 1/4 cup orange juice, freshly squeezed (60ml)
- 1 tablespoon orange zest (grated from about 1 orange)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
- Pinch of salt
Instructions:
- In the saucepan, combine cranberries, sugar, water, orange juice, orange zest, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer gently, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Continue to simmer, stirring occasionally, for 25-30 minutes, or until the cranberries have burst and the mixture has thickened to a jam-like consistency. It should coat the back of a spoon.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly. The jam will thicken further as it cools.
- Pour the jam into clean jars, if using, or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. This Spiced Cranberry Jam will be perfect for the holiday table.
