Ingredients:

  • 12 ounces fresh or frozen cranberries (340g)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (200g)
  • 1/2 cup water (120ml)
  • 1/4 cup orange juice, freshly squeezed (60ml)
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest (grated from about 1 orange)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. In the saucepan, combine cranberries, sugar, water, orange juice, orange zest, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally.
  3. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer gently, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  4. Continue to simmer, stirring occasionally, for 25-30 minutes, or until the cranberries have burst and the mixture has thickened to a jam-like consistency. It should coat the back of a spoon.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. The jam will thicken further as it cools.
  6. Pour the jam into clean jars, if using, or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. This Spiced Cranberry Jam will be perfect for the holiday table.
