Ingredients:
- 12 ounces (340g) fresh or frozen cranberries
- ¾ cup (150g) granulated sugar
- ½ cup (120ml) dry sparkling wine (Prosecco, Cava)
- ¼ cup (60ml) water
- 1 teaspoon orange zest, finely grated
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
- Pinch of salt
Instructions:
- In a medium saucepan, combine the cranberries, sugar, sparkling wine, water, orange zest, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer gently for 15-20 minutes, or until the cranberries have burst and the sauce has thickened slightly. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Remove from heat and let cool completely. The sauce will thicken further as it cools. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
