Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef, thawed
- 1 medium yellow onion, diced
- 1 15-ounce can or jar Sloppy Joe sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 8 slices American cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 package slider rolls, sliced (approximately 12 rolls)
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spoon until fully cooked.
- Drain excess grease if necessary. Add the diced onions to the skillet and sauté for about 5 minutes, until softened.
- Stir in the Sloppy Joe sauce and water, and continue heating for an additional 3 minutes.
- Pour the meat mixture into the prepared baking dish. Layer the American cheese slices over the meat mixture.
- Separate the tops and bottoms of the slider rolls. Place the bottom halves cut side down on top of the cheese layer.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top of the slider buns.
- Bake uncovered for 13-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the slider rolls are lightly toasted.
- Remove from the oven, sprinkle with fresh parsley if desired, slice, and serve warm.
