Ingredients:
- 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup (50g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (113g or 1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup (270g) Nutella, divided (about 3/4 cup for batter and 1/4 cup for swirl)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on two sides for easy removal.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar. Whisk until smooth.
- Whisk in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix!
- Stir in 3/4 cup of Nutella into the batter until evenly distributed.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Drop dollops of the remaining 1/4 cup of Nutella over the top of the batter. Use a toothpick or skewer to create a swirl pattern.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached (not wet batter).
- Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before lifting them out using the parchment paper overhang. Cut into squares and serve.
