Ingredients:
- 2 cups (300g) grated potatoes (Russet or Yukon Gold)
- 1/2 cup (60g) grated cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1/4 cup (30g) finely chopped green onions
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon (2g) garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon (2g) onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup (30g) breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) olive oil or cooking spray
Instructions:
- Grate potatoes and soak them in cold water for 10 minutes to remove excess starch.
- Drain and pat dry with a clean towel to remove moisture.
- In a mixing bowl, combine grated potatoes, cheese, green onions, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Mix until well combined.
- Form small crown shapes (about 2 inches in diameter) with the potato mixture and place them on a baking sheet.
- Gently press the crowns into breadcrumbs to coat the outside for added crispiness.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Place crowns in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Spray lightly with olive oil.
- Cook for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and crisp, flipping halfway through.
- Remove from the air fryer and let cool slightly before serving.
