- Zest of 1 lemon
- Juice of 1 lemon (approximately 2 tablespoons)
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
Instructions:
- Wash and trim the green beans.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the trimmed green beans to the skillet and sauté for 5-7 minutes until they are bright green and crisp-tender.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste, stir in lemon zest, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes if using, and sauté for an additional minute.
- Remove from heat and serve immediately, garnished with extra lemon zest if desired.
