Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
- 1/4 cup ice water
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Cut in the chilled butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add ice water, stirring until the dough forms. Shape the dough into a disk, wrap in plastic wrap, and chill for at least 30 minutes.
- In a skillet over medium heat, sauté onion and garlic until translucent. Add ground beef, breaking it up with a spatula, and cook until browned. Stir in spinach and cook until wilted. Season with Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Allow to cool slightly.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick. Cut out circles (approximately 3 inches in diameter) from the dough. Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of each circle, fold over, and crimp edges to seal. Brush the tops with the beaten egg.
- Arrange pastries on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.
