Ingredients:
- 1.5 lbs salmon fillets, center-cut
- 3 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1/2 tsp sriracha
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Pat the salmon fillets bone dry with paper towels. Note: This is the most important step for glaze adhesion.
- In a small mixing bowl, whisk the honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sriracha.
- Stir until the brown sugar is fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
- Spoon the glaze generously over the salmon fillets.
- Use a brush to ensure total coverage on the tops and sides. Note: Avoid glazing the bottom to keep the skin from sticking.
- Bake for 8-12 minutes until the glaze is bubbling and mahogany colored.
- Check the internal temperature: 135°F (57°C) for medium rare or 145°F (63°C) for well done.
- Remove from the oven and let the fish rest for 3 minutes. Note: This allows the glaze to set into a sticky lacquer.
