Ingredients:

  • 1 large head of broccoli (approx. 1.5 lbs / 700g), cut into florets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (30 ml)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (2.5 ml)
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder (1.25 ml)
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional) (1.25 ml)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Wash and dry the broccoli florets. Cut into even-sized pieces.
  3. In a large bowl, toss broccoli with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. Ensure broccoli is evenly coated.
  4. Spread broccoli in a single layer on the baking sheet. Avoid overcrowding for best crispness. Use parchment paper for easy clean up.
  5. Roast in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until broccoli is tender-crisp and slightly browned. Stir halfway through for even cooking. Check for doneness and crispness - you want those slightly charred edges!
  6. Serve hot and enjoy!
