Ingredients:

  • 6 large eggs
  • Water (enough to cover eggs by 1 inch)

Instructions:

  1. Gently place eggs in a saucepan in a single layer.
  2. Cover the eggs with cold water, ensuring they are submerged by at least 1 inch.
  3. Place the saucepan over high heat and bring the water to a rolling boil.
  4. Once boiling, immediately reduce the heat to a gentle simmer.
  5. Set a timer based on your desired yolk doneness: 6 minutes for runny, 8 minutes for soft-set, 10 minutes for firm, or 12 minutes for hard-boiled.
  6. Immediately transfer the eggs to a bowl of ice water using a slotted spoon.
  7. Gently crack the shell all over. Peel under cool running water, starting from the larger end of the egg.
