Ingredients:

  • 6 fl oz Canadian Whisky (traditionally Crown Royal)
  • 3 fl oz Sour Apple Liqueur (such as DeKuyper Sour Apple Pucker)
  • 3 fl oz Cranberry Juice (100% juice)
  • 4 Thin slices of green apple or lime wedge (Optional Garnish)
  • Ice (As needed)

Instructions:

  1. Chill the Hardware: Place the four shot glasses in the freezer for at least 5 minutes prior to mixing. A super-chilled glass is essential for a crisp shot.
  2. Prep Garnish (Optional): Slice the green apple into very thin wedges or small squares for presentation.
  3. Measure the Ingredients: Using a precise jigger or measuring tool, combine 6 fl oz Canadian whisky, 3 fl oz sour apple liqueur, and 3 fl oz cranberry juice directly into the cocktail shaker tin.
  4. Add Ice: Fill the shaker 2/3 full with high-quality ice cubes. Using plenty of ice ensures maximum dilution and chill with minimum watering down.
  5. The Aggressive Shake: Seal the shaker lid tightly and shake vigorously for 15–20 seconds. You want to see frost forming on the exterior of the shaker.
  6. Strain and Serve: Remove the shot glasses from the freezer. Double-strain the mixture into the four chilled shot glasses, ensuring no ice shards make it into the drink.
  7. Garnish: Place a small apple wedge or lime garnish on the rim of each glass immediately before serving.
