Ingredients:
- 1 cup (200g) Jasmine Rice, uncooked
- 1 ½ cups (360ml) Water
- Pinch of Salt (optional)
Instructions:
- Place the jasmine rice in a fine-mesh sieve. Rinse under cold running water until the water runs clear. This removes excess starch and prevents the rice from becoming too sticky.
- Transfer the rinsed rice to the saucepan. Add the water and salt (if using). Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Once boiling, immediately reduce the heat to the lowest setting. Cover the saucepan tightly with the lid.
- Simmer, covered, for 15 minutes. Do NOT lift the lid during this time – resist the temptation!
- Remove the saucepan from the heat. Let it stand, still covered, for 5 minutes to allow the rice to steam completely.
- Fluff the rice gently with a fork before serving.
