Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (200g) Jasmine Rice, uncooked
  • 1 ½ cups (360ml) Water
  • Pinch of Salt (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Place the jasmine rice in a fine-mesh sieve. Rinse under cold running water until the water runs clear. This removes excess starch and prevents the rice from becoming too sticky.
  2. Transfer the rinsed rice to the saucepan. Add the water and salt (if using). Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  3. Once boiling, immediately reduce the heat to the lowest setting. Cover the saucepan tightly with the lid.
  4. Simmer, covered, for 15 minutes. Do NOT lift the lid during this time – resist the temptation!
  5. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Let it stand, still covered, for 5 minutes to allow the rice to steam completely.
  6. Fluff the rice gently with a fork before serving.
