Ingredients:
- 1 package (8 count) refrigerated crescent roll dough (226g)
- 8 hot dogs (beef, pork, or vegetarian) (approximately 450g)
- 1 large egg, beaten (approximately 50g)
- Optional: Mustard, ketchup, or mayonnaise for dipping (as needed)
- Optional: Poppy seeds for decorating (1 tsp)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate the triangles. Using a pizza cutter or knife, slice each triangle into long, thin strips (about ¼ inch wide).
- Wrap the strips of dough around each hot dog, leaving a small section uncovered at the top for the face. Crisscross the dough strips to create a mummy-like effect.
- Brush the wrapped hot dogs with the beaten egg. This gives them a golden brown color.
- Place the Mummy Dogs on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and the hot dogs are heated through.
- Once cooled slightly, add small dots of mustard, ketchup, or mayonnaise to create eyes. You can also use poppy seeds for a spookier look.
- Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.
