Ingredients:
- 8 Hot Dogs
- 1 sheet Refrigerated Puff Pastry (400g)
- 1 Large Egg
- 2 Tablespoons Milk or Water
- Black Sesame Seeds or Mustard
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- On a lightly floured surface, unfold the puff pastry. Use a pizza cutter or knife to slice the dough into thin strips (about ½ inch / 1.25cm wide).
- Wrap the puff pastry strips around each hot dog, leaving a small face area exposed at one end. Criss-cross the strips for a mummy-like effect.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and milk (or water). Brush the egg wash over the wrapped dough.
- Place the Mummy Dogs on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed up.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Use black sesame seeds or small dots of mustard to create the eyes on the exposed face area.
- Serve warm with ketchup, mustard, or your favorite dipping sauce.
