Ingredients:
- Ears of fresh corn on the cob (unshucked)
- Water - 1 tablespoon per ear of corn
- Unsalted Butter - 1-2 tablespoons, melted
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste (optional)
Instructions:
- Leave the corn in its husk. If the silks are poking out excessively, trim them slightly.
- Place the corn (still in husk) on a microwave-safe plate. Add 1 tablespoon of water directly onto the husk of each ear.
- Microwave on high power. 1 ear: 3-4 minutes; 2 ears: 5-6 minutes; 3 ears: 7-8 minutes.
- The corn is done when the kernels are tender and easily pierced with a fork through the husk. Carefully remove from the microwave using oven gloves – it will be hot!
- Let the corn cool slightly (a minute or two). This makes it easier to handle. Carefully peel back the husk and remove the silks. The husk should come away easily.
- Brush the corn with melted butter, sprinkle with salt and pepper (if using), and serve immediately.
