Ingredients:
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 1 cup (240ml) water
- 2 tbsp (12g) instant coffee or espresso powder
- 1 cup (240ml) vodka or dark rum
- 1 tsp (5ml) pure vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Combine the sugar, water, and instant coffee in a small saucepan.
- Place over medium heat and whisk constantly, bringing the mixture to a gentle simmer until the sugar is completely dissolved and the liquid looks like a dark, glossy syrup.
- Remove the pan from the heat immediately.
- Stir in the vodka or dark rum and the vanilla extract for 30 seconds to ensure the alcohol is fully integrated.
- Allow the mixture to cool for 5-10 minutes.
- Using a funnel, pour the liqueur into a sterilized glass bottle and seal tightly.
