Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup (50g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (approx. 170g) assorted Halloween candy, unwrapped (e.g., Snickers, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Milky Way)
- 1/4 cup (approx. 40g) Halloween sprinkles
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour (or line with parchment paper) an 8x8 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, melt the butter. Whisk in the sugar, cocoa powder, and salt until well combined.
- Stir in the vanilla extract, then beat in the eggs one at a time, until fully incorporated.
- Gradually add the flour, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix!
- Chop the assorted Halloween candy into small pieces.
- Microwave 1/2 cup chopped candy in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until melted and smooth.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan. Drizzle the melted candy over the batter. Use a knife or skewer to swirl the melted candy into the brownie batter.
- Sprinkle the remaining chopped candy and sprinkles evenly over the top of the brownie batter.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached (not wet batter).
- Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
