Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (50g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (approx. 170g) assorted Halloween candy, unwrapped (e.g., Snickers, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Milky Way)
  • 1/4 cup (approx. 40g) Halloween sprinkles

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour (or line with parchment paper) an 8x8 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, melt the butter. Whisk in the sugar, cocoa powder, and salt until well combined.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract, then beat in the eggs one at a time, until fully incorporated.
  4. Gradually add the flour, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix!
  5. Chop the assorted Halloween candy into small pieces.
  6. Microwave 1/2 cup chopped candy in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until melted and smooth.
  7. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan. Drizzle the melted candy over the batter. Use a knife or skewer to swirl the melted candy into the brownie batter.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining chopped candy and sprinkles evenly over the top of the brownie batter.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached (not wet batter).
  10. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
