Ingredients:
- ¼ cup (60 mL) soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons (30 mL) rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons (30 g) brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon (15 mL) sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch piece ginger, grated
- ½ teaspoon (2 g) black pepper
- 1½ pounds (680 g) flank steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 bell pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 small red onion, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 8-10 wooden or bamboo skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and black pepper.
- Add the cubed flank steak to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (up to 2 hours for deeper flavor).
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- Thread marinated beef, bell pepper, and onion onto the skewers, alternating between ingredients.
- Place skewers on the preheated grill. Grill for 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until beef is cooked to desired doneness.
- Remove skewers from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.
