Ingredients:
- 300g all-purpose flour
- 7g active dry yeast
- 1 tsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 240ml lukewarm water
- 30ml olive oil
- 115g unsalted butter, melted
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh chives, chopped
- 1 tsp dried Italian herbs
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
- Combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt in a bowl. Add water and oil. Knead until smooth.
- Place dough in greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1-1.5 hours.
- Melt butter, stir in garlic, parsley, chives, herbs, salt, and pepper.
- Punch down dough, divide into 6-8 portions. Roll each into a thin rectangle.
- Brush each rectangle with garlic herb butter. Stack buttered dough rectangles.
- Cut stacked dough into 6-8 strips. Place strips in prepared pan, swirling or arranging them upright.
- Cover pan, let rise again for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Cool slightly before serving. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese (optional).
