Ingredients:

  • 300g all-purpose flour
  • 7g active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 240ml lukewarm water
  • 30ml olive oil
  • 115g unsalted butter, melted
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh chives, chopped
  • 1 tsp dried Italian herbs
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt in a bowl. Add water and oil. Knead until smooth.
  2. Place dough in greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1-1.5 hours.
  3. Melt butter, stir in garlic, parsley, chives, herbs, salt, and pepper.
  4. Punch down dough, divide into 6-8 portions. Roll each into a thin rectangle.
  5. Brush each rectangle with garlic herb butter. Stack buttered dough rectangles.
  6. Cut stacked dough into 6-8 strips. Place strips in prepared pan, swirling or arranging them upright.
  7. Cover pan, let rise again for 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. Cool slightly before serving. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese (optional).
