- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup plain yogurt
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- Fresh herbs for garnish
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit until frothy (about 5-10 minutes).
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour and salt.
- Make a well in the dry ingredients, add yogurt, oil, and the frothy yeast mixture.
- Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough, divide into 8 equal pieces, and roll each into a ball. Roll out into ovals (about 1/4 inch thick).
