Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup (85g) honey
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp (5g) coarsely cracked black pepper
  • 2 cloves (6g) garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp (1g) red pepper flakes
  • 4 salmon fillets, 6 oz each
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp (3g) sea salt
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) melted butter

Instructions:

  1. Pat the salmon fillets completely dry with paper towels. Note: Wet fish steams instead of searing, which ruins the crust
  2. Season the fillets lightly with sea salt.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, minced garlic, cracked black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Whisk until the mixture is smooth and glossy.
  4. Choose your path: - For Air Fryer: Brush the fillets with a generous layer of the Easy Pepper Salmon Glaze. Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 7–10 minutes. - For Oven: Coat the fillets with the glaze and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 12–15 minutes. - For Pan Frying: Heat the olive oil and melted butter over medium high heat.
  5. If pan frying, sear the fillets skin side up for 3 minutes until the flesh is golden and slightly crisp.
  6. Flip the fillets carefully.
  7. Pour the remaining glaze into the pan around the fish.
  8. Spoon the bubbling glaze over the salmon for 3–4 minutes until the sauce thickens and the fish flakes easily with a fork.
