Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup (85g) honey
- 2 tbsp (30ml) low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbsp (15ml) fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp (5g) coarsely cracked black pepper
- 2 cloves (6g) garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp (1g) red pepper flakes
- 4 salmon fillets, 6 oz each
- 1 tbsp (15ml) olive oil
- 1/2 tsp (3g) sea salt
- 1 tbsp (15ml) melted butter
Instructions:
- Pat the salmon fillets completely dry with paper towels. Note: Wet fish steams instead of searing, which ruins the crust
- Season the fillets lightly with sea salt.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, minced garlic, cracked black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Whisk until the mixture is smooth and glossy.
- Choose your path: - For Air Fryer: Brush the fillets with a generous layer of the Easy Pepper Salmon Glaze. Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 7–10 minutes. - For Oven: Coat the fillets with the glaze and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 12–15 minutes. - For Pan Frying: Heat the olive oil and melted butter over medium high heat.
- If pan frying, sear the fillets skin side up for 3 minutes until the flesh is golden and slightly crisp.
- Flip the fillets carefully.
- Pour the remaining glaze into the pan around the fish.
- Spoon the bubbling glaze over the salmon for 3–4 minutes until the sauce thickens and the fish flakes easily with a fork.
