Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Premium Blanco Tequila (100% Agave)
  • ½ oz Freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 4 oz Sparkling grapefruit soda
  • 1 pinch Coarse sea salt
  • 1 Fresh grapefruit wedge
  • 1 sprig Fresh mint

Instructions:

  1. Prep the glass. Rub a lime wedge around the rim of a chilled highball glass.
  2. Apply the salt. Press the rim into a small plate of coarse sea salt until a thin, crystalline crust forms. Note: Don't rim the whole glass; leave a spot for those who prefer no salt.
  3. Add the base. Pour 2 oz of Blanco Tequila into the glass.
  4. Balance with acid. Add ½ oz of freshly squeezed lime juice.
  5. Incorporate the salt. Drop a tiny pinch of salt directly into the liquid and stir gently.
  6. Chill the mix. Fill the glass to the brim with large ice cubes.
  7. Top with bubbles. Slowly pour 4 oz of sparkling grapefruit soda over the ice until the foam reaches the rim.
  8. Agitate lightly. Use a long spoon to lift the ice once or twice to mix the ingredients without killing the carbonation.
  9. Release the oils. Squeeze a grapefruit wedge over the top and drop it in.
  10. Add aromatics. Slap the mint sprig against your wrist to release the oils, then tuck it into the ice.
