Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450g) frozen meatballs (beef, turkey, or plant-based)
  • 2 cups (200g) uncooked penne pasta
  • 3 cups (720ml) marinara sauce
  • 2 cups (480ml) vegetable or chicken broth
  • 1 cup (100g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon (5g) Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish
  • Crushed red pepper flakes for heat

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In the baking dish, spread the uncooked penne pasta evenly.
  3. Arrange frozen meatballs on top of the pasta.
  4. Pour marinara sauce and broth over the layers, combining gently.
  5. Sprinkle Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper over the mixture.
  6. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil, sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the top, and return to the oven.
  8. Bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Allow it to cool for a few minutes, garnish with fresh basil, and serve warm.
