  • 6 tablespoons (85g) unsalted butter
  • ½ cup (120ml) heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 6 medium-sized apples (preferably Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 6 wooden sticks (for dipping)

  • ½ cup (90g) mini chocolate chips
  • ½ cup (50g) colorful sprinkles

Instructions:

  1. Wash and dry the apples thoroughly and insert a wooden stick into the top of each apple.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine granulated sugar and butter over medium heat. Stir continuously until the mixture begins to melt and turn golden.
  3. Carefully add heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt, continuing to stir until smooth.
  4. Allow the caramel to cool slightly (1-2 minutes) for easier handling
  5. Before the caramel sets, roll or sprinkle desired toppings onto the coated apple.
  6. Place dipped apples onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the caramel to harden.
  7. Enjoy immediately or store in the refrigerator, covered, for up to 2 days.
