Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (45g) rolled oats (not instant!)
  • 1 cup (240ml) milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml) chia seeds (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1.25ml) vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. In your jar or container, combine the rolled oats, milk, cocoa powder, maple syrup, chia seeds (if using), vanilla extract, and salt.
  2. Stir well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined and no cocoa powder clumps remain.
  3. Secure the lid tightly on the jar or container.
  4. Place the sealed container in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours, or preferably overnight.
  5. Before serving, give the oats a good stir. If they are too thick, add a splash more milk to reach your desired consistency.
  6. Add your favourite toppings and enjoy immediately!
