Ingredients:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • ½ teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 ½ cups warm water

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and yeast.
  2. Pour in the warm water and stir until a sticky dough forms; don't worry about lumps.
  3. Cover with plastic wrap or a towel, and let it sit at room temperature for 12-18 hours, until bubbles appear and the dough has risen considerably.
  4. Once fermented, flour a work surface and turn out the dough. Shape it gently into a ball.
  5. Let it rest on the floured surface for about 30 minutes, covered with a towel.
  6. Place the Dutch oven inside and preheat to 450°F (230°C).
  7. Carefully remove the hot pot, lift the dough with parchment, and place it in. Cover with lid and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the lid and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Allow the bread to cool on a wire rack before slicing.
