Ingredients:
- 1.5 lbs (680g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 16 oz (454g) jar of your favourite salsa
- 1 oz (28g) packet taco seasoning
- 1/2 cup (120ml) chicken broth (optional)
- Optional garnishes: shredded cheese, sour cream, chopped cilantro, sliced avocado, lime wedges
Instructions:
- Lightly grease the inside of your slow cooker.
- Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker. Pour the salsa over the chicken, followed by the taco seasoning. If using, add the chicken broth.
- Cover and cook on Low for 6-8 hours or on High for 3-4 hours, or until the chicken is cooked through and easily shreds with a fork. This is the easy crock pot salsa chicken recipe.
- Remove the chicken from the slow cooker and shred it with two forks.
- Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker, stirring it into the salsa mixture.
- Serve immediately, garnished as desired.
