Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Filtered Cold Water or Unsweetened Almond Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh Lemon Juice
  • ½ inch knob Fresh Ginger, peeled
  • 1 Tablespoon Chia Seeds
  • 2 cups Fresh Baby Spinach, lightly packed
  • 1 medium Frozen Banana, sliced
  • ½ cup Frozen Mango Chunks

Instructions:

  1. Prep the Base: Pour the cold water (or almond milk) into the blender jug first. The liquid must always go in at the bottom.
  2. Add Boosters: Add the fresh lemon juice, ginger, and chia seeds to the liquid. This ensures they disperse immediately.
  3. Pack the Greens: Gently pack the spinach directly on top of the liquid/boosters. Ensuring the greens are close to the blade when blending starts helps them break down quickly.
  4. Top with Frozen Ingredients: Add the sliced frozen banana and the frozen mango chunks. The heaviest, hardest ingredients go last.
  5. Initial Blend (Low Speed): Secure the lid. Start blending on the lowest setting for 10–15 seconds to allow the liquid to start pulling the solids down. Use the tamper, if available, to push ingredients toward the blades.
  6. Full Power Blend: Increase the speed to high and blend continuously for 60–90 seconds. Blend until no visible flecks of spinach remain and the texture is uniform, thick, and velvety.
  7. Check Consistency: If the smoothie is too thick, add water or milk, 2 tablespoons (30 ml) at a time, and blend briefly.
  8. Serve Immediately: Pour into a glass and enjoy!
