Ingredients:

  • 8 oz (225g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tbsp (21g) honey
  • 1/2 tsp (2g) vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp (1g) ground cinnamon
  • 1 sheet (250g) light puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 tbsp (15g) melted butter
  • 1 tsp (5g) coarse sugar

Instructions:

  1. In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, honey, vanilla, and cinnamon until velvety and smooth.
  2. Place the bowl in the fridge for 10 minutes to stabilize the filling.
  3. Roll out the pastry on a clean surface and use a pizza cutter to slice the dough into 12 equal squares, approximately 2x2 inches each.
  4. Spoon exactly 1 1/2 tsp (7.5ml) of the chilled cream cheese mixture into the center of each square.
  5. Fold the corners of the dough toward the center and pinch the seams tightly to create a small parcel, ensuring no gaps exist.
  6. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the bites seam-side down.
  7. Lightly brush the tops of the bites with melted butter and sprinkle with a pinch of coarse sugar.
  8. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 12 minutes or until the pastry is mahogany-colored.
