Ingredients:
- 2 medium apples (approx. 1 lb / 450g)
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch of salt
Instructions:
- Peel the apples completely to remove tough skins and slice them into fingers roughly 1/4 inch (6mm) thick.
- Place a non-stick skillet over medium-low heat and add the water and lemon juice.
- Once simmering, add the apple slices and cover the pan with a lid for 5–7 minutes to steam.
- Remove the lid and sprinkle the cinnamon and salt evenly over the slices.
- Stir gently with a spatula until the water reduces to a light glaze and the apples are mahogany-brown and tender.
