Ingredients:

  • 2 medium apples (approx. 1 lb / 450g)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Peel the apples completely to remove tough skins and slice them into fingers roughly 1/4 inch (6mm) thick.
  2. Place a non-stick skillet over medium-low heat and add the water and lemon juice.
  3. Once simmering, add the apple slices and cover the pan with a lid for 5–7 minutes to steam.
  4. Remove the lid and sprinkle the cinnamon and salt evenly over the slices.
  5. Stir gently with a spatula until the water reduces to a light glaze and the apples are mahogany-brown and tender.
