Ingredients:
- 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp (2 g) salt
- 3/4 cup (180 ml) water
- 1 lb (450 g) ground chicken
- 1/2 cup (75 g) finely chopped scallions (green onions)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) soy sauce
- 1 tsp (5 g) ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp (2 g) black pepper
Instructions:
- Combine flour and salt in a bowl.
- Gradually add water, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead until smooth, about 5 minutes. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, scallions, garlic, soy sauce, ginger, and black pepper.
- Mix thoroughly until well combined.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/16-inch thick.
- Cut out circles using a cookie cutter.
- Place a small spoonful of the filling in the center of each circle.
- Fold the dough over the filling, pressing to seal the edges firmly.
- Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil.
- Gently add wontons (do not overcrowd) and cook for 5-7 minutes until they float and are cooked through.
- Use a slotted spoon to remove wontons and drain.
