  • 1/2 tsp (2 g) salt
  • 3/4 cup (180 ml) water
  • 1 lb (450 g) ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup (75 g) finely chopped scallions (green onions)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) soy sauce
  • 1 tsp (5 g) ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp (2 g) black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Combine flour and salt in a bowl.
  2. Gradually add water, mixing until a dough forms.
  3. Knead until smooth, about 5 minutes. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, scallions, garlic, soy sauce, ginger, and black pepper.
  5. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
  6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/16-inch thick.
  7. Cut out circles using a cookie cutter.
  8. Place a small spoonful of the filling in the center of each circle.
  9. Fold the dough over the filling, pressing to seal the edges firmly.
  10. Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil.
  11. Gently add wontons (do not overcrowd) and cook for 5-7 minutes until they float and are cooked through.
  12. Use a slotted spoon to remove wontons and drain.
