Ingredients:
- 1 pound (450g) thick-cut bacon, cooked until crispy and crumbled
- 8 ounces (225g) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup (240ml) mayonnaise (full-fat for best flavor)
- 1/2 cup (120ml) sour cream
- 1/4 cup (60ml) shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
- 1 cup (150g) grape tomatoes, diced
- 1/2 cup (50g) chopped fresh romaine lettuce
- 1/4 cup (25g) chopped red onion (optional)
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives or green onions (for garnish)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Salt to taste
Instructions:
- Cook bacon in a skillet until crispy. Drain on paper towels and crumble. Reserve a little bacon fat if you want to sautee your onions in it for a deeper flavour.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, and cheddar cheese (if using) until smooth and creamy.
- Add the crumbled bacon, diced tomatoes, lettuce, and red onion (if using) to the cream cheese mixture.
- Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Taste and add salt, if needed.
- Cover the dip and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Garnish with chives or green onions before serving.
