Ingredients:

  • 2 large ripe bananas (approximately 12 oz / 340 g)
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blackberries (approximately 5 oz / 140 g)
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (approximately 8 fl oz / 240 mL)
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, approximately 0.5 oz / 15 g)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional, approximately 0.5 oz / 14 g)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional, approximately 2.5 mL)

Instructions:

  1. Peel the bananas and break them into chunks. If using fresh blackberries, rinse them under cool water.
  2. In a blender, add the banana chunks, blackberries, almond milk, and any optional ingredients (honey, chia seeds, vanilla).
  3. Blend on high speed until smooth and creamy, approximately 1-2 minutes. Stop blending and scrape down the sides if necessary.
  4. Taste the smoothie; add more honey or maple syrup if desired and blend again.
  5. Pour the smoothie into two glasses and garnish with whole blackberries or banana slices if desired. Enjoy immediately!
