Ingredients:

  • 4 Tablespoons Ground Mustard Seed
  • 3 Tablespoons Celery Seed
  • 2 Tablespoons Smoked Paprika
  • 2 Tablespoons Sweet Paprika
  • 1 Tablespoon Coarse Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 Teaspoon Ground Ginger
  • 1 Teaspoon Ground Allspice
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper Flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 Tablespoon Fine Sea Salt (or celery salt for a finer texture)

Instructions:

  1. Carefully measure all ground spices (Mustard, Paprikas, Pepper, Ginger, Allspice, Nutmeg, Cinnamon, and Red Pepper Flakes) into a small mixing bowl.
  2. Add the specified amount of fine sea salt to the bowl.
  3. Use a small whisk or spoon to vigorously mix all ingredients together for at least 60 seconds, ensuring the heavier spices are evenly distributed throughout.
  4. Taste test the blend using a clean, dry finger. Adjust salt or heat (red pepper flakes) as needed based on personal preference.
  5. Transfer the finished seasoning blend immediately into a clean, dry, airtight jar.
  6. Allow the blend to rest for at least 24 hours before heavy use to allow the flavours to marry properly.
