Ingredients:

  • ½ cup (40g) rolled oats (old-fashioned oats)
  • 1 cup (240ml) milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • ½ medium (60g) ripe banana, mashed
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) maple syrup (or honey)
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional toppings: chopped walnuts, pecans, sliced banana, chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. In a mason jar or container, add rolled oats, milk, mashed banana, maple syrup, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt.
  2. Stir all ingredients together until thoroughly combined. Ensure the banana is well distributed.
  3. Seal the jar or container and refrigerate for at least 8 hours, or preferably overnight.
  4. Before serving, stir the oats. If they seem too thick, add a splash more milk to reach your desired consistency.
  5. Add your favorite toppings, such as chopped nuts, sliced banana, or chocolate chips. Dig in!
